Dear NAACP Members, Congratulations on your decision to dedicate yourself to one of the nation’s greatest and oldest Civil Rights organizations. Now I often hear the old joke, "please let someone steal my identity and improve my credit score" but the fact of the matter, identity theft is much more serious and deeper social issue. As people of color, let's be vigilant to be the first to be informed....not the last. Please share this site with hundreds of your family and friends online and be vigilant in protecting the future of America and our children. Why? Identity Theft involves much more than your credit...imagine your medical records and privacy history are compromised...you may be denied medical service or loss of insurance. Imagine your character is bludgeoned because someone commits a murder in your name with fake IDs. When I give speeches throughout the United States, people tend to forget during the 9/11 tragedy, terrorist actually used someone ID by changing Passport information to gain entry into the United States. I can show you other examples of Identity Theft that will make you understand the need to understand the problem and WHY YOU MUST DO MORE!

Do you know one in ten people will experience Identity Theft this month alone? Do you know 10 million people are fighting for their lives at this time -- because someone stole what belonged to them? I recall listening to Dr. Jamal-Harrison Bryant, who elaborated and said Satan was trying to steal our Spiritual Identities by making us into things we are not. My faith tells me the things that happen even in the spirit will happen in the world. As a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Consultant I implore you to do more. Protect yourselves, Protect your family and Protect Our Nation ...it's a must. Identity Theft doesn't have a racial profile attached but the awareness and the resources to fight this problem do have disparate and unequal impacts. I ask for the NAACP and all of our members to make this a top priority as we talk with and to elected government. This value added approach of bringing solutions to the table is what Uplift America is all about. This one issue, Identity Theft, isn't based on ideology of Democrat or Republican Parties -- this issue hinges on taking vigilant steps together. The past has taught us a valuable lesson and that is IF we don't get ahead of the situation, we will be caught up and lose innocent children who are falsely blamed. People of Color have traditionally been denied institutional access to the justice system -- we must empower ourselves never to be denied again. I personally labeled Identity Theft, a form of terrorism. This epidemic jeopardizes our National Security and a problem that should but fall within each states responsibility under Homeland Security to address. If you are a business owner with one or more employees, understand the federal laws have changed to hold you as the employer responsible to comply with protecting personal information of employees and customers. Please write your Congress representative and other elected officials to do more. We have to keep the pressure on American businesses and organizations to safeguard our personal records and to hold thieves accountable. We can do more, we must do more!
